DP Review reports today on a new Casio Exilim 12x zoom, 6 megapixel digital all-in-one camera which will shoot bursts at 60 frames-per-second(!) and shoot video at 300 fps (!!!), allowing for high res (HD) slow-motion video, previously the provenance of high-end, professional, video cameras.
I can already see loads of fun shooting for stills at 60 fps, and churning the stills into video as well.
Couched in a prosumer style body with fixed lens and a large hand grip, Casio, usually a leader in small form factor electronics, seems to be leading (or at least adding to) the charge towards consumers’ need for a single combination of still and video camera that’s not giving short shrift to one or the other.
