Irreverent photo tool of the week.

Irreverent photo tool of the week.“What is it?” That’s what I probably said to my client that gave me this contraption several years ago. I was photographing some products that needed a table-top treatment but wouldn’t stand up by themselves because of their shape, and the way they were weighted. The client had someone at the company cobble together a weighted girder and a steel rod, which was reinforced with some metal tubing, to hold the products in place for photography. The tool worked out great and earned a spot on my miscellaneous shelf of odds-and-ends, getting pulled out when it is the only tool that will hold something in place just so. Not pretty, but form follows function, and this functions great when needed.Posted by Steve Weinrebe
