Painting in Photoshop CS5

April 21st, 2010 · No Comments · Adobe CS5, Photoshop, Photoshop CS5, Technology

photoshop_cs5_mnemonic.jpgThe wonderful digital artist, and ex-Painter developer, John Derry has posted an excellent video demonstrating the new painting features in Photoshop CS5, including bristle tip brushes, the Mixer Brush (which lets you blend paints with wetness and mixer attributes). The video finishes with a technique for turning photographs into oil-paint-style imagery. As a photographer I’m not personally as fond of the latter technique, but I know a lot of portrait photographers that may like to offer something new to their customers, and here it is. If you have a portrait business, or are a free hand artist, or just like to draw, you’ll enjoy this terrific tutorial. Click here to jump the video.
