Sitting here in my hotel room watching the Bloomberg ticker scroll by out of the corner of my eye, I was startled to see that Kodak had exited the camera business – how sad. Not the $30 Million charge the company is taking to do that, but part of me always had hoped that Kodak would reinvent itself in the camera business as a way to stay in our lives. I suppose the Kodak name will live on the way the Polaroid name lives on, franchised and diminished. Still a toast to the glory days, and the people that made them.
