News, tips, references, and observations on photography, Photoshop, Digital Video, and Adobe Training, all of which I am both passionate about and do for a living. (And yes, my Grandmother would say, “You call it a living?”) Of course the goal with all of the above is to do it with some originality and, where possible, some humor.
Steve Weinrebe bio: As both a teacher and a photographer, I have enjoyed introducing students to Adobe Photoshop since 1991. In 1996 I became the ninth person ever to become an Adobe Certified Photoshop Instructor (there are still fewer than 180 in the USA). See more about my Photoshop classes here. My book Adobe Photoshop and the Art of Photography: A Comprehensive Introduction (Thomson-Delmar Learning, 448 pgs.), provides a complete introductory Photoshop course featuring original photography and easy to understand text and illustrations, and also features original interviews with well regarded photographers at the end of each chapter. In 2006 I received a Videographer award for multi-media training on the video applications of Photoshop. As a professional photographer, I’ve won numerous awards over my 30 year career and am published internationally. My stock photography is represented worldwide by Getty Images. I have toured for Calumet Photo, teaching Photoshop seminars, and I have recently been brought on board to the Maine Media Workshops faculty to teach photoshop for photographers, and for videographers. Through my video production company Whole Cloth Productions™, I produced an award winning children’s video. Besides writing for Mode Studio, I write tutorials for the Photoshop User web site, and a column for CreativeBlvd.com. Being both a fan of the liberal arts, and an entrepreneur, I have a BA in Philosophy from Beloit College, and an MBA, with honors, from Temple University.

I atcually have a question. Where should I save the Luminosity Sharpen with Smart Sharpen file that very generously offer, so that it will be in the drop down selection.
Thank you very much,

Re: my Luminosity Sharpening Action, download from the Photoshop User web site:
Actually you can “load” it from anywhere, though the best place to keep an action may be in the Photoshop program folder, in the Applications folder on a Mac, or the Program Files folder on a PC, as follows: Photoshop CS3 > Presets > Actions. Whether you place the action there, or on your desktop, do the following:
1) Launch Photoshop
2) Click the drop down menu at the upper right corner of the Actions palette
3) Choose “Load Actions”
4) Navigate to the action, whether it is on your desktop, or you placed it in your Actions folder as described above.
5) Once you’ve found the action in the Load Actions dialog, click the action and then click “Load”.
6) Your action will now be listed in the Actions palette, ready to use.
Enjoy!
